Riggertal Loop

The approximately 3.8-kilometre rail link connects the Puster Valley directly with the Brenner axis and cuts journey times by around 15 minutes.

Under construction

Directly from the Puster Valley to the Brenner axis

The Riggertal Loop takes Puster Valley trains directly towards the Brenner line near Schabs. The current reversal at Franzensfeste is no longer necessary, creating the infrastructure for faster through services.

Key structures

The new line is approximately 3.8 kilometres long. It includes a bridge of around 190 metres, a tunnel of roughly 800 metres and the new Schabs stop. New access routes at Vahrn and Natz-Schabs connect the area.
