Riggertal Loop links the Puster Valley and Brenner axis

Creating a direct connection

The approximately 3.8-kilometre Riggertal Loop links the Puster Valley line near Schabs directly with the Brenner axis. Trains no longer need to reverse at Franzensfeste. Journey times between the Puster Valley, Brixen and Bolzano are reduced by around 15 minutes.

Bridge, tunnel and new stop

The project includes a bridge of around 190 metres, a tunnel of roughly 800 metres and the new Schabs stop. New access routes at Vahrn and Natz-Schabs improve accessibility.
