Technology for electric operation
Electrification work on the Vinschgau Railway includes the 25 kV overhead line with around 1,500 masts, new signalling systems and the European Train Control System ETCS.
Stations and track are being adapted too
Platforms are prepared for longer trains, access routes and underpasses adapted and technical systems renewed. At Laas, straightening a section of track is also part of the overall project. The infrastructure is designed for electric FLIRT trains with up to six cars.
